Cory Elifritz, 19, of Norwalk was taken from us on Thursday;

October 28, 2021.

Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6,

2021, at Sunset Memorial Chapel at 7601 Fleur Drive, Des

Moines, lowa. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. The

family would like to invite everyone to join them for a dinner

after the funeral at Sunset Memorial Chapel.

Cory Lee Elifritz was born on August 8, 2002, in Des Moines,

lowa: he was the son of Michael Schultz and Mellissa

(Andrew) Van Wey. He attended School in the Norwalk School

District graduating in 2020.

Cory enjoyed his family most of all. Everyone that he met had

a special place in his heart, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,

and friends, that had become part of his family. He liked to go

fishing, hiking, mudding and four wheeling with his friends

and family. His pride and joy was his truck. He was the voice

of reason among his friends.

Those left to carry on Cory's loving memory are his parents;

Michael Schultz & Mellissa (Andrew) Van Wey, siblings; Iseah

Slaughter, Tori, Damon and Kayden Van Wey, Christopher

Shultz, Goddaughter; Journee June Egbert, grandparents;

Dana Elifritz, Aronald & Patti Van Wey, Linda Curry,

Bernard & Barb Curry, Kevin & Betty Mortenson, Tammy

Mortenson and many, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Cory was proceeded in death by grandparents; Donald

Elifritz, Shirley & Lester Elifritz, Harry & JoAnn Hunter,

Leroy & Edna Van Wey, Loretta & Carol Smith, and Heidi

Van Wey.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a

later date in memory of Cory.
