Corporal Richard's obituary

Corporal Richard H. Williams was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on April 12, 1943 to late Brother Gilbert and Mother Frankie Williams. Corporal Williams, 77 passed away peacefully at Veterans Memorial Hospital St. Louis, MO. on December 30, 2020. Richard was united to his Domestic Partner Joann Brownlee who proceeded him in death January 4, 2018. Together they had seven children to this union, four sons and three daughters.
Corporal Williams confessed his faith to Christ at an early age. His formative education was through the public schools in Bastrop, La., his home town. When Richard was just 18, he decided he wanted to join the Military. Corporal Williams was a Decorated Veteran who served in the United States Army and was Discharged with Honors.
After Richard left the United States Army he moved to St. Louis, Missouri and later move on to East St. Louis, Illinois which he became a life long resident.
Richard started working for Granite Steel as a Foreman in Granite City, Illinois, and Retired where he could relax and enjoy life. Richard Loved Life he was a very personal and quiet person, Richard loved fishing, sports, listening and singing along to the Blues. He enjoyed cooking and filling a bowl with candy, bubble gum and peppermints. Richard was a Clean Fanatic he liked his House spotless always wiping things down, washing dishes and mopping. Richard Loved his Grand and Great grand children, always looking after them, making sure they were fed, clean and getting to school on time or getting them off the bus. On Holidays/Birthdays Richard would fire up the grill while Joann is in the kitchen getting the food prepared, they were a Team. Fishing was one of Richard's favorite pass time sports was fishing for Bluegill and Croppie at the Strip mine Pits in New Athens, Il.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory Richard Jr. (Kim) of Savannah, Ga; Patina(Wayne) of Lake Charles La; Montez(Latrece), Lamar(Wonita) of Belleville, Il; Cortez(Shawn); Stephanie(Jerry), Shaquita of Cahokia, Il; 7 sisters ; 1 brother, 1 niece Myrtle Hogg of Bastrop, La; Winston of Winston California; proceeding him in death are Evelyn, Thirkill, Alma, Gilbertha Williams Oma and Patricia Manning. He is also survived by 16 grand children, 6 great grand children, 7 nephews, 6 nieces, Albert Jr.(Lois), Michael(Linda), Donald(Jackie), Angela(George), Sharyie(Larry), Jessica, Danny(Felicia), Kimberly(Garry), Alanda(Chris), Flennard, Cortez Jr., Perez, Montez Jr., Montrell, Montae, Justice, Jermeisha, Jerika, Jayla, Jerry Jr., Jerriona, Jerrion, Janessa, Demetria, Dominique, Ruben and ost of Family and Friends.
