The word I keep hearing to describe Uncle Neil, my Buddy, was that he was the rock to so many loved ones. Mom said that many times. He could be silly but serious, fun but supportive. He always made me feel so loved, seen, and special. So many of my absolute best memories were spending time with your family, and he was the center of it. I remember dancing to "Jump" in your kitchen and sure the floor was going to cave, standing on your fireplace receiving a "major award" after our ski trip, 21 bottles of "Best Buddies Booze" for my 21st birthday, soooo many ski stories ("Stand up you GD Dummy and get off the lift!"). His laugh and love were contagious. Love you, Uncle Neil, and love to all of you Boyles.

Mary Lou: It is so very difficult to write to you knowing how much you loved Neil and how much you miss him. We all loved George. He made us laugh whenever we were with him. What a great sense of humor. He never referred to himself as Neil but as George or a few other names. He was always in a good mood. We were so sorry when you moved. We knew we would miss both of you.

We have lived here for 22 years and you and George were among the first people that we met. How fortunate for us to have had you as friends from the beginning. Unfortunately we have lost a lot of friends along the way.

We are anxious for thing to return to normal. We have not played bridge in a year. We have however managed to go to one of the wineries every week. We go with our son and daughter and their families. They both live about 15 minutes from our house.

I will try to keep you up to date on what is happening here and you let us know what is happening there.

Love you and miss George. Heart Bob & Amy

So wonderful. I cried the whole time. I am dealing awful with Neil’s death on Feb 5 th. I’m so lonely. I’ d kill to be there. With you and Amy and friends. The weather sucks.
Dam Covid. It did ruin his lungs. He would have been on oxygen the rest of his life if he survived. He was so wonderful. Our live was for 60 years. I am devastated.
Please write and tell me what is going on there. I love you guys forever, Mary Lou

His body had gone through too…
His body had gone through too many illnesses and injuries to continue on. 😥When my daddy came home to us, he had not been eating and he was so depleted. My daddy told me two months ago, as we gazed at a beautiful sunset together, that "He was going to miss us” and that “He was going into the sky". He knew. 😓 Of course I didn't want to accept that. But my father was a very giving man, who hated to be a burden to anyone. He hated being in his failing, rapidly aging body, because...
He lived such a full life! The pictures reflect that life. Beloved by many, a jolly, sometimes 'corny' man (his name was Cornelius after all), he always aimed to make people laugh...family, friends and strangers alike.
"The life of the party"; "A father figure" to many; a football fanatic; a very popular guy; a “rock”; a lover of dirty jokes, yet deeply religious; a humble “Legend”...many said.
My childhood was filled with so much love and laughter, in large part because of this larger than life, beautiful man! A devoted husband, he loved my mom for 60 years and theirs was a love to envy!💖💖 They traveled the world together and even lived abroad in Australia, where he was chosen, amongst many, to open a Dupont plant.
He started in education and moved on to a career with DuPont, where he climbed the ladder to a management position. I believe this happened as a result of his incredibly likable personality and his strong work ethic. He never missed a day of work, but boy did he love to host parties on the weekends. Our weekends were filled with first doing chores, then card playing with friends, football watching, toasting, singing dirty limericks, dancing and lots of giggles. A wicked card player who wasn’t above a shady move, his laughter was a boisterous one when you were lucky enough to catch him cheating.
Cornelius “Neil” J. Boyle, born on October 6, 1941, passed peacefully in New Castle, Delaware surrounded by his family on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:04 pm. My son, Sky Tobler, repeatedly called from California at 1 pm (he felt his 'grandpa-poopin')...Sky’s voice was the last my beloved father heard as he took his last breath.
Survived by his wife Mary Lou Boyle, his three children and his seven grandchildren, my dad will be missed beyond words. I was his ‘Babs’...his ‘Carrot top’. He will forever be the greatest man I’ve ever known! I love you daddy! So much❣️❣️❣️The angels are lucky to be with you now and I’m sure you are making them all laugh! 💔😥 Love, Barbie
