I took care of an aspect of their living and vacation arrangements while on island. I liked Corrine and Dirgham and we had a bond. She and I spoke our Dutch and Flemish languages, mixed with some Bruxelles, all heart warming as expats. I considered Dirgham & Corrine nobility. They enriched my being. Thank you.

1982, Alexandria Virginia
I had the pleasure to meet Mrs. Salahi in 1982 when I was 18 years old. I applied for a teachers aide position at The Montessori School of Alexandria in Old Town. I still vividly remember my interview with her in her office. My first thought when I saw her was, “this is a very elegant, classy lady!”. So I was a little intimidated, and as with any job interview, extremely nervous. But, when she spoke to me, with her calming voice and endearing demeanor, I soon began to relax. After several questions, which I have no idea how I managed to answer, she hired me on the spot. She was a very caring and compassionate boss. Over the years of my life, I have often thought of her and today happened to be one of those times. I was writing a list of things in my attic and remembered the large painting that I salvaged when they were clearing out the Junior school. I’ve held onto it for almost 40 years. I just could never part with it. So, I decided I would google search Mrs. Salahi and hence, immediately I found her obituary.
I am so very saddened to hear of her passing so unexpectedly and tragically from the COVID virus.
She was a special soul. I can only begin to imagine how many other numerous people she has left her “heart print” on throughout her life.
My condolences to all of her family and friends.

Wonderful loving friend! So sorry to hear of her passing! There wasn’t a mention of her Faith in God and Her contributions to her Church in Front Royal! I cherished the memories of the “ Blessings of the vines “ each year at Oasis winery🙏

I’m so sorry my brother again!🙏🏾 ❤️💯🎷
Corinne was a good friend to me, and to so many in Front Royal. For my 50th birthday, she was instrumental in surprising me. She opened her home to one of my closest friends from South Carolina so that my friend could attend my surprise party. That was Corinne, always gracious, generous, and willing to help. I will miss her, and am so thankful that I knew her, and could call her my friend...Terri Eshelman
Corinne was an amazing, kind, generous, visionary. It is rare in a lifetime to know someone like her. I feel so lucky to have known her: as a fellow student, as my employer, as a colleague, and as a lifelong friend! Bob Williams
Tareq, Bud and I are sorry that something has come up and we will be unable to attend the service for your mother tomorrow. Corinne was a dear friend and we will miss her. We kept in touch by email, especially at Christmas. We both feel blessed for her friendship.

Sad to hear of your Mother’s passing. May God’s love and grace be always with you and your family.
I first met Corinne about six years ago. I immediately loved her. She was everything I could want in a mother in law and friend. We talked weekly and she shared recipes, stories and wisdom with me. She was a beautiful soul and a good person. I will truly miss her.

I am a successful Mother of 4 children. Three of my children attended MSA. Mrs. Salahi taught us to always keep the children on a schedule. It worked well, I am proud. Thanks
Honestly their is too much to mention. Grateful is what comes to mind.
In response to "What did you learn from Corinne?"
I was with Corrine on Friday January 22nd. She was in a lot of pain. I spoke with her on Monday the 25th she was in Alexandria hospital. God help her I was so sure she would come and she would tell me stories. I am Heart broken

I will never forget the kindness of Dirgham, Corine and you Tareq during my tenure of Bleu Rock vineyard.
Sincere Condolences.
In response to "When was the last time you spent time with Corinne?"
I am soo sorry for your loss. Hearing this, a flood of memories came to me spending time at Oasis Winery. I had a special bond with Dirgham over Palestine conversations and loved how Corinne would keep Dirgham in line, or tried lol. I remember how proud she was of the Montessori and her two sons. Once we were up at the house and we were chatting about world politics (my husband is Turkish and I lived in Israel for a year) they served wine and cheese and my 4 year old son at the time was crazy about the Parmesan and talked about it forever! After moving to Houston 23 years ago we visited the winery often. I have great love for Corinne and the family. God bless.
I was lucky enough to work for Dirgham and Corinne at Oasis Winery. Could never have met two more generous people ever. I have kept up with Corinne ever since and I am just stunned this morning to learn of her passing. I remember them trusting me to run a BIG wine festival at the Plains many, many, many years ago - the total sales for that weekend if I remember was close to $20,000....they were so pleased and said that was the most they had made at that event. We had a special release wine, and I increased the price because I thought it was worth it and we sold out. My love to Tareq and Ismail (sp?) and families. I will miss sending your Mother cards for Valentine's Day, and Easter and her Birthday and Halloween and Christmas. The world is richer to have had Corinne with us, but will be much poorer without her.
I was honored to know Corinne and Dirgham later in their lives and was a Care giver to Dirgham. Corinne showed so much loving kindness to her husband and I was able to witness the loving relationship and true love she had for Dirgham and her family regardless, she loved her family dearly.
I will miss her greatly.
Tareq & Lisa,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
With love, Cory & Bev
Oh Tareq and Lisa. Ric and I are thinking of you with love and care. We are so sorry. ❤️
