Corinne's obituary

Corinne Marie Palazzolo, 59 young years old, of Henrietta, New York, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, on January 24, 2025. Cori was predeceased by her parents, James & Mary Carroll, brother in law Duane Young and niece Devany Carroll.

Cori is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Thomas Palazzolo and children, Brianna (Nathan) Boland and Troy Palazzolo. She is also survived by her siblings; Patrick (Debbie) Carroll, Michael Carroll, Terri Carroll, Sherri Young, Maureen (Chris) Hellems and Timothy (Lisa) Carroll, as well as many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

Let us tell you about Cori; also known lovingly as the ‘caboose’ of a large, crazy-fun, Irish Catholic family. Cori arrived just before the family moved to Rochester, New York. Her crib was squeezed into a tiny bedroom that also had 2 twin beds for her brother and sister, Tim and Maureen. She learned, early on, that she needed to ‘fight the fight’ so she could keep up with everyone! Yet, she was, and would always be, her Mom’s very favorite child.

Cori chose ‘beauty school’ after high school, and a few of her siblings recall getting really bad haircuts. But she could always do a good job on her Dad! Her training led her to discover that she had magical talents with makeup application. She was such an artist when it came to taking a blank face and creating the most beautiful, natural, jaw-dropping finale! This talent of hers led to a long career at Scott Miller Salon. For decades she brought beauty to countless women who were in awe of her talents.

But what you need to know is that, with Cori, family came absolutely first. She met Tom, and he quickly swept her off of her feet. Shortly after they were married, along came Brianna, and 5 years later, Troy. Cori would, even during her very hard times, put her kids and their happiness far above any of her needs. Brianna and Troy know, without a doubt, that their sweet mom lived and breathed for them to walk through the door. She gave them everything possible that a loving mom could.

Cori was a self-taught photographer and especially loved capturing the beauty of her favorite flower, the sunflower. She also had a strong connection with birds, and was known, rather frequently, to go to the nearby park and just wait for the chickadees to land on her. She loved sitting in her backyard, listening for birds and delighting when a cardinal came…knowing it was a visit from her own Mom.

Another source of awe and comfort for Cori was finding meaning and presence in clouds. She had a very adept eye in finding her angels within the white fluffy formations. Cori also loved her lil dogs, Chia, Corby and Mia. During the last year of her life, she took in Beau, who brought her so much joy and comfort.

Cori also had a true passion for music. She always looked forward to events and concerts, and traveled all over to see such amazing artists as Pink, Drake White and, her favorite, Def Leppard. Cori found such joy in ‘dressing the part’ and being fully immersed in the experience. Music was a vital part of Cori’s life and she loved experiencing it with her life-long friends and loved ones.

After Cori’s ovarian cancer diagnosis, she became very involved with the Breast Cancer Coalition and was an integral part of raising significant funds for ovarian cancer. She participated in these functions with humor, humility and genuine love for everyone she met. Cori was a beacon of hope and light for all, and it reflected back to her, giving her strength to, as she would say, “fight the beast”. Cori’s courage and profound positivity carried her, and her family, through a long journey as she battled her cancer.

The family wishes to express much love and appreciation for everyone who has generously donated to the fund set up in Cori’s name. A celebration of Cori’s life will be held at Twin Silos, 6758 Big Tree Road, Livonia NY, on Sunday, June 1, from 3-7 pm. We invite all who love and miss sweet Cori to come and share your stories of how she touched your life.
