Corey's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Corey Bryant, a beloved family man, on October 13, 2025. Born on December 15, 2004, Corey lived a remarkable life filled with kindness, resilience, and a unique blend of passion and silliness that touched all who knew him.

Corey leaves behind his devoted wife, Jennyfer Rivera, who shared in his dreams and supported him throughout their life together. He is also survived by his sister, Kaiya Browning, and his dear grandparents, James and Kathy Shields, who will remember him for his warm soul and hardworking nature. His mourning relatives also include his Aunt Erika and Uncle Jonathan Tindal, Aunt Lilli and Uncle Blaise Shields, and cousins Jeremiah and Katelyn Tindal, all who admired Corey's strength and intelligence.

Corey was predeceased by his mother, Krista Browning, and his father, Warren Thompson.  He always thought of them and never let their memories die. We hope that wherever they are they get to make amends and spend time together, the time they did not get to spend here with us. He was also preceded in death by his great grandparents, James and Kay Bryant, who formally adopted him as an infant and raised him during his childhood.

Undoubtedly, Corey's greatest personal accomplishment was not letting life's challenges deter his dreams. After almost giving up, Corey persevered to graduate high school, setting an example for those around him of his tenacity and resolve. He turned his life around, always striving for better, and allowing nothing to crush his spirit. His passion for automobiles led him to the proud ownership of his dream car, a project he poured his soul into, making it "cooler" with each passing day.

Corey's legacy will forever be tied to his adventurous spirit and his love for cars. He was more than he believed himself to be, and will greatly be missed, not just by his family, but also by those whom he never realised held him in high regard.

His life, though short, was a testament to the power of resilience, love, and the pursuit of passion. We will remember him as a kind, hardworking, warm, smart, and funny man. He will be missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A Celebration of Life for Corey and his mother, Krista, will be held at Southport Presbyterian Church (7525 McFarland Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46237) at 9:300 am on Wednesday, October 14th. All friends and family are welcome.
