In Jewish teaching, the proper thing to say about one’s  passing is "May his memory be for blessing." When we say that, the blessing implied is this: it is up to those who bear his memory to keep his  goodness alive. We do this by remembering him, we do this by speaking his name, we do this by carrying on his legacy.

To my dear friend Stephanie and your beautiful family, I know that you connected with certain aspects of Judaism, so I offer you and share these words. May his memory be forever a blessing.

All my love,

Nancy

Cooper and his Cate family. I…

Cooper and his Cate family. I can’t believe this. Cooper just welcomed me into his home and picked me up from the airport at midnight, got me an in and out burger and we talked it up like we were 14 again. My heart hurts so much. Cooper always felt like my golden, curly haired brother. We would blast rap music, yell and scream, do work, not do work. He welcome a boy from Cleveland, Ohio to sunny southern California with open arms because that’s who he was. I hope Cooper has found peace now as that was what he always gave me. I LOVE YOU COOP!

I never met Cooper, but spend most every Monday night with his mom, and know how  much he was loved and the lives he touched. My heartfelt sympathy  to Stephanie and all her family. He lives on in your hearts and souls.  Prayers for all of you.
