Connie Lou Whisman, age 82 of Stanwood Washington sadly passed away on October 8, 2023, surrounded by family.

Connie was born on December 7, 1940 in Faith, South Dakota to Robert and Marietta Ross. She and her mother moved to the Everett area when she was a child and she grew up in Mukilteo attending Rosehill and Everett High School.

Connie met and married James O’Neil and had two children, Jim and Pat. Following his death, she married Chuck Whisman and had two children, Joe and Suzanne.

The family moved to Lake Shoecraft in Stanwood, WA. Connie worked for many decades and retired from the Lakewood School District where she was very involved and loved working. Even years later she is still affectionately remembered and loved by past students for her skills in the cafeteria. For years she enjoyed working weekends at Cheers Too in Mukilteo and then The Blue Moon in Everett, where she will be fondly remembered by her many friends for her excellent dart playing skills. You could always count on Connie for that phone call yearly with her singing, “Happy Birthday” to you. Her great sense of humor and her unwavering friendship will never be forgotten.

Connie was preceded in death by her Mother Marietta “Grandma Pat” Holtgeerts, her son-in-law Bob Vik and her daughter-in-law Kim O’Neil. She is survived by her children Jim O’Neil, Pat O’Neil, Joe Whisman and Suzanne Whisman, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her brother Reed (Patti) Holtgeerts and their 2 children.

Her family will hold a celebration of her life Sunday November 5, 2023 at 12:30pm at Lions Hall, located within Forest Park at 802 E Mukilteo Blvd., Everett, WA 98203.
