It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Sue Hammonds (née Arnold), 72.  Connie passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024 at University Hospital with family by her side.

Connie was born on May 12, 1951, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cincinnati, OH to Thelma Lee and James Edward Arnold. Connie was blessed with a large family, including her siblings Judy (Herb) Couch and Ruth (Rodney) Osborne. She is preceded in death by her older brothers Robert “Buddy” Arnold and Marvin “Bimbo” Roberts, as well as stepsiblings Amelia Kenington and Kenneth Kenington.

Throughout her life, Connie was known for her beauty, her perseverance, and her profound love for her grandchildren. Whether she was tending to her garden, spending time with her grandchildren, or just listening to country music with a cup of coffee on her back porch, she approached every moment with a sense of urgency and an EXTREMELY hard head.

She is survived by her children Tonja (Christopher) Bales and Shane Waugh, and preceded in death by her youngest daughter Kristi Waugh. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Caitlyn (Logan) O’Meara, Taylor, Collin, Brittany, Makayla, Aliyah, and Catelyn, who were the light of her life.

The Westminster Court senior living community has graciously provided a venue for a Celebration of Connie’s Life for family & friends, which will take place on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at 901 Cherry Street, Blanchester, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, contributions towards Connie's memorial marker are encouraged. For those who wish to donate directly, further details will be provided at the Celebration of Life service. Donations can also be made using this website.  

In her passing, we find solace in the countless memories she has gifted us. In her memory, let us cherish each moment and hold dear those we love.
