Conchita's obituary

On 28 May 1970, Conchita Maria Street, affectionately known as Connie, was born in Washington DC. She grew up in Upper Marlboro, MD and attended Prince George’s County Schools before graduating from Frederick Douglass High School in 1988. She later attended Trinity Washington University achieving a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English in 1992. She holds various Contracts certifications, as well as a Grant Writing Certification.

Conchita was a hard worker and a doting mother. She often stressed the importance of education and wanted nothing but the best for her two children. She was generous, kind, and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A devote servant of the Lord, Conchita loved Him with every fiber of her being. Conchita was a member of Righteous Church of God in Washington, DC where she served as a trustee, choir member and consultant.

Conchita’s children were the apple of her eye and family meant the world to her. She also spent much time with her niece, who kept a smile on her face and a light in her eye. Conchita was often found journaling, reading, and writing poetry. She had an artistic eye for design and saw beauty in the simplest things, which contributed to her love for traveling.

Conchita passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, surrounded by friends and family. She was loved by many and is survived by her two children Jerrold Joyner Jr, and Jessica L. Street, her mother Catherlene M. Street, and her sister Lolita Street (Lee), Brother-In-Law Carlton Lee, favorite niece Celeste A. Lee and god-daughter Mackenzie J. Smith. She was proceeded in death by her father Birl C. Street, Jr.
