Concetta “Connie” Somma, 83, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida died February 12, 2024.

Connie was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 19, 1940 to Anna Gallo Aleo and Salvatore Aleo. The eldest of three girls, Connie was recognized as an excellent student during her school years.

Connie met her future husband Frank Somma at the age of 13. They were neighbors and friends throughout their childhood. Connie and Frank married in 1960. The family lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island before settling in Holmdel, NJ.

Connie was an accomplished artist, skilled at painting, knitting and crochet. She loved travel and adventure and she and Frank went on to travel the world together during their 50+ years of marriage.

In her later years, Connie enjoyed golf, card games and puzzles, and staying in touch with good friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her mother Anna, her father Salvatore and her sister Lucille.

She is survived by her children Michael Somma, Sal Somma, Kenneth Somma, and Karen Somma Ball, daughter-in law Carrie Somma, son-in-law Jim Ball, sister Fran Russo, grandchildren Jayna Somma Marks, Amanda Somma Guarnieri, James Ball, Michael S. Somma, Matthew Somma, Michael J. Somma, Christopher Somma, and Abigail Ball, three great-grandchildren, Goddaughter Lisa Russo, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Connie was a devoted parent and grandparent. She was very loved, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
