I never expected to be writing this. And it hurts.
I found my brother deceased March 18th in the late afternoon in his bedroom. I knew he was gone - you could tell - but I shook him anyway.
I yelled his name anyway.
My mother who has dementia yelled at ME for being loud with him and I had to help her out of his room and close the door while I called "911".
At first I told the "911" operator that he was merely unresponsive as if saying that would change things. But the second she asked about CPR, reality hit home. He was way past that point.
EMS and the investigators came and went and his body was transported for an autopsy. We are still waiting for the results to understand, HOW & WHY?
My brother and I walked different paths and had different priorities. But he was loved and I am heartbroken.
There's lots to do regarding arrangements and due to Covid 19 there will be some restrictions in place. I will keep everyone updated via this website. Due to her dementia my mother has yet to understand that Collin has passed. Please do not mention it to her if you happen to see her.
In the meantime. please feel free to share feelings, pictures, thoughts, memories etc., on this website.
Thanks for all the love many of you have already shown.
Be blessed...
One luv...
Courtney

UPDATE: Cause of Death
Common bacteria or viruses that can cause illness can spread through coughing, sneezing, kissing, or sharing eating utensils, a toothbrush or a cigarette.
It seems that Collin acquired a bacterial infection at some point. How?
We don't know.
That bacterial infection spread quickly releasing toxins which appears to be what killed him - and did so quickly.
Additional analysis by the Medical Examiner has indicated that was NOT meningitis.
Therefore as of 1:53pm today 3/22/21 I've been advised by the Westchester Dept of Health that there is no longer a need to contact them regarding exposure.
