Colleen Hampshire, age 92 of Auburn, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Lincolnshire Place in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Hampshire was born on February 17, 1931 in Culver, Indiana to William and Mary (Howell) Crossgrove. She was a 1949 graduate of Culver High School.

She married her first husband, Robert Harper in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1958. She married her second husband, Harold “Buck” Hampshire on December 2, 1960 in Auburn. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2018.

Mrs. Hampshire was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family. She was a very creative person that had an artistic talent. She enjoyed camping and traveling.

Survivors include:

Son; Phillip Harper of Grabill.

Daughter and son-in-law; Jana and Dave Gawthrop of Fort Wayne.

Daughter and son-in-law; Lyn and John Beltz of Indianapolis.

Daughter and son-in-law; Julia and Jeff Gren of Carmel, Indiana.

Eight grandchildren and their spouses; Jenny Hardy, Stacey and Matt Grashoff, Balie and Christian Strnad, Heather and Jordan Schmell, Austen Gren, Natalie and Garrett Waite, Madison and Joel Powell and Jay Beltz.

13 great grandchildren.

Brother; William Crossgrove of Plymouth, Indiana.

Many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Robert Harper, her second husband; Harold “Buck” Hampshire, one daughter; Carol Nahrwald, and three sisters; Maxine Bailey, Iris Hyland and Gloria Goble.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Culver Masonic Cemetery in Culver, Indiana.
