Colleen's obituary
Colleen Craven Farmer (aka Auntie Cow), 52, of Brandon, FL, passed away on January 22, 2024 after a very long battle with cancer.
Colleen was born on April 4th, 1971, to Craig and Dorothy Craven in St. Clair Shores Michigan. They moved to Florida in the summer of 1980 and finally settled in Brandon Florida. Colleen graduated from Brandon Senior High School in 1989. Colleen was an energetic and career minded person, she held positions at Progressive Insurance and Bank of America, to name a few.
Recalling how he met Colleen; David said they were working together at Shells Restaurant in 1999. They felt a connection with each other, but both were dating other people at the time. David ended up leaving Shells to work in the IT field while Colleen headed off to a payroll company. In 2002 he found himself single again and one night decided to go up to Shells for dinner. That evening, Colleen was there having dinner with friends. David and Colleen reconnected over dinner and drinks and have been together ever since. He proposed, she accepted, and they were married on June 19, 2007.
Colleen was first diagnosed with Cancer in 2012 and this is when she began the toughest and longest fight of her life. She started her treatments at Florida Cancer Specialists and then later was referred to Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa and remained a positive source of hope and light. Her greatest strength was making sure everyone around her, regardless of her health, was okay. All the nurses and doctors at Moffit were impressed by her continued positive spirit. Colleen was well known for her humor and optimism.
