Colleen's obituary
Colleen Ruth Beck
September 29, 1947 – March 13, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Ruth Beck.
Colleen was born on September 29, 1947, in Erie, Pennsylvania, and moved to Southern California at the age of 12. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Colleen’s greatest pride was her two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer, and she adored her 5 granddaughters—Crystal, Samantha, Alexandra, Brooke and Taylor. She was also blessed to have five great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. As a grandmother, Colleen was dedicated, loving, and always made time to create lasting memories with her family.
A graduate of Cosmetology School in Fullerton, California, Colleen excelled in her field and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. Her adventurous spirit led her to learn how to drive a semi-truck, traveling the United States and experiencing new places. Later, she retired from trucking and became the office manager for a storage unit, a job she cherished. Colleen had a gift for connecting with others—many customers became lifelong friends as they sat with her, sharing stories over coffee.
Colleen was a talented baker, and her culinary skills were beloved by her family and friends. Holidays were always special with her delicious meals and homemade cookies. In her retirement, she stayed busy with the book club, sewing club, and even calling Bingo at the senior center in Woodland. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing games on her computer.
Known for her sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude, Colleen’s quick humor and loving nature made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She always kept a pot of coffee brewing and welcomed anyone who stopped by for a chat. Colleen’s hugs were comforting, and her smile and laughter could warm any heart. She taught her daughters many valuable life lessons, including the importance of independence, hard work, and the belief that anything is possible.
A woman of deep faith, Colleen relied on her belief in Jesus Christ to guide her through life's challenges and passed on this love of Jesus to her daughters. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to family, and she believed that no problem was too big to be solved with a good cup of coffee and some homemade cookies.
Colleen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her
