Dear Slade Family,

I had the honor of being Colette’s friend for 20 years. We met as neighbors in the Country Farms subdivision in Windsor, Colorado. We shared a passion for pure science, nature, healing and more. I was blessed with briefly getting to know your mom through my job. At first she would bring in birds from the bird center and eventually brought in her four legged friends to our clinic. Your mom had the ability to capture the attention of everyone in the clinic. She has the presence that quietly demands attention, just by exisiting. She was stunning and she was more than just stunning she was intelligent and kind. I had talked with my coworkers on numerous occasions mentioning that if I ever had a chance to go to the bird center and shadow I would like to be her shadow. I wasn't aware of her passing until today. I am so sorry for your loss. Colette is a wonderful soul and I am so glad I got to know her in her human form. Even if it was brief.

I am also sorry I didn't say anything in clinic today. I absolutely froze when I found out that your mom had passed. I just didn't realize how much she had impacted my life with just a few conversations until that moment. Sometime you don't ever get to know how much you have touched someone's life by just being authenticly yourself, so I wanted to share that with you. Your mom left an impression on me that I won't forget.
