Clyde's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clyde Jerabek, a beloved family man and passionate protector of the natural world. Born on April 10, 1940, Clyde led a life of immense compassion and joy until his peaceful passing on September 11, 2025.
Clyde was a devout attendee of Christ United Methodist Church, his faith profoundly influencing his daily life and actions. His life was a testament to kindness and generosity; he deeply embodied his most important lesson: 'Always be kind to others.'
One of his most enduring passions was the ocean, which he loved not only for its beauty but also for its provision. Seafood was Clyde’s cuisine of choice, and he cheerfully indulged in his favorite meals accompanied by a glass of milk. This fondness for the sea also extended to his concern for its protection; he was actively involved in causes concerning ocean pollution, advocating for its cleanliness and preservation.
Among Clyde's favorite leisure activities were walks along the beach, a pastime that allowed him to combine love for the ocean, his favorite exercise, and his favorite color, yellow, which often painted the evening sky during his strolls. These serene walks were a source of both relaxation and inspiration for Clyde.
Music was another of Clyde’s enjoyments; he was a zealous fan of The Beatles, their music often serving as a soundtrack to his life. He also held a spirited loyalty and undying support for his favorite sports team, Tampa Bay.
But the greatest joy in Clyde's life was his family. He cherished his time with his grandchildren, often spending sunny days at the beach with them. He was loving, selfless, caring, and passionate; his absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who had the honor to know him.
In his memory, let us remember the beauty of the world Clyde loved so much and strive to protect it, just as he did. His spirit lives on in the kindness we extend to others, the music we enjoy, the family we cherish, and the beautiful nature we protect.
