Clint's obituary
Clinton A. Inglee, age 77, died unexpectedly of complications from a fall on November 10, 2022. Clint, as he preferred to be called, was born in Amityville, NY, on April 6, 1945, to Clinton Fawcett and Ruth Lillian Inglee. He grew up on Long Island where he was his grandmother’s “wunder” boy, became an Eagle Scout at age 15, and spent his teen summers at Newfound Lake in NH. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a mechanical engineer after graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Clint began his career as a sales engineer with the Torrington Company. He would often say he “peddled” bearings that “made the world go round” throughout New England until his retirement in 2005. Clint married Paula McPhail Hargreaves in 2000. Following his retirement, they became snowbirds, traveling between Province Lake in New Hampshire and Summerfield, Florida, enjoying the best of both worlds.
Clint had many hobbies and interests throughout his life, but he only enjoyed activities when he could share with family or friends. Flying was a hobby he shared with his father, making his first solo flight at age 16. Later, when flying large airplanes was no longer feasible, he switched to building and flying model airplanes with his sons and a friend. During his thirties, he was active in the Millstone, NJ Jaycees, was a volunteer Chief with the Millstone Township Fire, Co., and coached his sons’ soccer teams. Since Clint was a boy, he almost always owned English Springer Spaniels. He loved hunting with “his dog” and was an accomplished marksman. But when his furry companion did not like the sound of a gun, he gave up hunting. As an adult, he developed a liking for golf and enjoyed playing with various golf groups wherever he lived. During his forties, he moved his family to Bedford, NH, where he became active in the Bedford Presbyterian Church (USA). He was ordained as an Elder and served on various committees and even starred as a Wise Man in their annual “Living Nativity.” He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and in 1998 he purchased his Harley which he may have spent more time polishing than riding as his Parkinson’s progressed. When he could no longer play golf and pickleball, he accompanied Paula to her softball games where his loyal support could be heard over the crowd. Although Clint had to give up most of his activities in recent years, he did not complain and he still enjoyed being with friends and family and maintained his dry sense of humor that endeared him to many. However, what Clint himself was most proud of and thankful for were his two sons: Clinton Griffin Inglee, who predeceased Clint, and James Peter Inglee.
Clint is survived by his wife, Paula Inglee and his dog, Aries; his brother, David Inglee and sister-in-law, Lisa Inglee of Tulsa, OK; his son, James and daughter-in-law, Christine Inglee of Raymond, NH; his daughter-in-law, Janette Byerley Inglee of Robbinsville, NJ; and five grandchildren Aaron Inglee, of Raleigh, NC; Reagan Inglee, of Newark, Delaware, Carter Inglee, of Robbinsville, NJ, and Kendall and Kelsea Inglee of Raymond, NH.
A memorial service will be held at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Road, Bedford, NH on December 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
