Mr. Clifton Dealton Mitchell, of Cottage Grove, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 71.

Clifton was born to parents Troy C and Mary E Mitchell on May 29, 1950 in Marion, IN. He grew up as the eldest of two sons in Fairmount, IN and is a 1969 graduate of Fairmount High School.

Clifton married Linda R Walters on June 24,1972 in Matthews IN, and the couple had one child. Linda preceded him in death August 22, 1976. Clifton held many occupations throughout his life, including Owens Illinois, Schneider National, and as a Auto Mechanic until his retirement.

In retirement Clifton loved spending time with his grandchildren on their farm in Tennessee and watching the Dallas Cowboys play in the fall.

Clifton is survived by his son Timothy Mitchell(Fancy) of Cottage Grove, TN. Twelve grandchildren, Jamie Huffer(Robbie) of Nevada, IN, Matthew Stockdale(Laura) Dresden, TN, Walter and Dallas Mitchell of Marion, IN, Damion Oden-Mitchell(Desiree) of Indiana, Thomas Stockdale of Cottage Grove, TN, Linda, Faith, Willow, Jeanie, and Gabriel Mitchell all of Cottage Grove, TN; Nine great-grandchildren; Sister-in laws Diane Mitchell, Susan Burkholder(Phil); Brother in-law Richard Walters(Tammy); Several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Mary Mitchell; his brother, James D Mitchell and a grandson, Aries Stockdale.
