Clifton's obituary

Clifton Armstrong, Jr., a spirited and resilient individual known for his fun-loving personality, passed away on October 4, 2023. Born on August 18, 1963, Clifton's zest for life impacted everyone who had the good fortune to know him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of his company.

A proud graduate of Sicily Island High School, Class of 1981, Clifton held a job with Altown Bus Service as a School Bus Driver, which he started in 2006. He held a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) acquired in 2005 and served the community dutifully until his retirement in 2011 due to major health concerns.

Beyond his professional life, Clifton was a volunteer in many programs, lastly with The SARA Center, showcasing his commitment to service. His caring nature extended to his personal life. He loved his family and was an example of always valuing your time with others.

Clifton's life was fast-paced, filled with color and adventures. He loved lobster and crab legs, enjoyed the melodies of Michael Jackson, BB King, and Boy George, and had a penchant for talk shows. He cherished movies like Titanic and found peace in the practice of yoga. His favorite spot was Miami Beach, Florida, where he felt as a young man it was the first place that allowed him the freedom to be himself.

He was known for his fortitude and faced and overcame numerous health concerns throughout his life.  His favorite color, true to his personality, was blue. His legacy will indeed be his resilience and unwavering spirit.

Clifton is survived by his loving mother, Annie Shirley Armstrong, his sister, Vallary Armstrong-Jones, and his siblings, Wynonna, Yolonda, Sherry, Jeania, and Chasity Armstrong. He leaves behind his brothers David Armstrong, Tony Givens, Corey Knight, Otis Armstrong, Clifton Lenard Amstrong, and Clinton Armstrong, and his Uncles Clinton Williams and Cleveland Williams. He was predeceased by his father, Clifton Otis Armstrong, Sr., his sister, Collette Renee Armstrong; his Uncles, Lacy Armstrong, George Washington Williams, Robert Lee Williams, and Noah Ray Williams; and his Aunts Agnes Armstrong Cuney, Maudelle Williams, and Lucille Williams.

With his passing, we mourn the loss of a beautiful soul who will forever be remembered for his courage and love for life. He has left an indelible mark in our hearts and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory would serve as an enduring reminder to value our time with others, for that is the greatest gift we can share.
