Clent's obituary
Clent Micheal Fetters, affectionately known as Clenatasaurus, Clentmeister, and Pappy, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, at the Home Place with Hospice of East Texas. He was 61 years old.
Born on March 19, 1964, in Texarkana, Texas, Clent was the son of Henry and Clara Fetters and the beloved brother of Rena Fetters. He graduated from Texas High School in 1982 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in land survey drafting from Texas A&M University–Texarkana in 1986.
Clent dedicated 38 years to a career in land surveying and mapping, where his precision, work ethic, and easygoing personality earned him deep respect from colleagues and friends alike.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Tonya Fetters; his sister, Rena Fetters; his daughter, Jennifer Hall, and son-in-law, James Hall; and his cherished grandchildren, Lillian, Lucas, and Les, who were the light of his life.
Clent found joy in the simple things—hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends. He was known for his corny jokes, quick wit, and a heart that was always ready to help others. His laughter and generosity will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
In keeping with his wishes, Clent did not want a funeral or a big fuss. He will be cremated at Birdsong in Tyler, Texas. A gathering of close family and friends will be held in celebration of his first birthday in heaven.
The family asks that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas in lieu of flowers, in gratitude for the compassionate care they provided during his final days. They will also be planting a tree at his daughter’s home in loving remembrance of him.
