Clayton Lynn Martin Sr., 61, passed away on July 8, 2025.

Born on August 12, 1963, Clayton was the son of Charles Martin and Christine Martin. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Melisa A. Martin; their children, Keri, Cassie, Shauna, and Clayton “Sonny” Jr.; grandchildren, Kayden, Gavin, Savannah, Sydney, Sawyer, Ollie, Izzy, Caleb and Adelaide; and his three brothers and five sisters, as he was the eldest of nine.

Clayton spent his early years in Arizona, raised with the love and guidance of his mother, and his beloved grandma and grandpa Thompson. After marrying Melisa, the couple eventually settled in Bakersfield, California, where they built a life together and raised their family.

Clayton owned and operated a successful agricultural business in California’s Central Valley for over 40 years.

In his final year, Clayton lived in Tyler, Texas, enjoying time surrounded by those he loved. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, generous spirit, and love of the beach—always ready for an adventure and especially drawn to the peaceful shores of Hawaii.

Clayton’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
