I was privileged to have played with Clayton in our contemporary band at First Pres. church in San Pedro, Ca.

I remember when Clayton married me to my second husband in a park in Oakland. It was a beautiful day and he was amazing! I miss him. The LOPC church misses him too!!

Clayton was such a force! He was the rock with the Singles Ministry at LOPC when I was Co-Chair of Shipmates. Very supportive and a friend. He will be missed by many.

I was [ how you felt ] when I heard the news of Clayton's passing. I couldn't believe the news! Clayton was such an essential part of our Shipmates group at LOPC! He was fun and forgiving to many a lost soul. I smile when I think of him. Hope your memories of Clayton make you smile.

Remembering Clayton on the day God brought him to this earth. I am grateful for his faithful, fun, and often funny leadership of our youth group at Lafayette Orinda Pre in the late 70's-early 80s. His mentorship launched me into college, med school, and then life - he officiated our wedding 1994 - just celebrated 30 years. So many memories in addition to weekly youth group (grew 10x over my 4 years of high school!), mission trips, mock presbytery conferences, ski trips, camping, etc - Clayton lives on in the fabric of my faith. Along with my family, we serve vulnerable kids in the Dominican Republic (Kids Alive, 22 years now) - I am certain that God used Clayton to start shaping me for His plans. My senior year our mission trip was to an orphanage somewhere near Ensenada I think, a ministry very similar to our work today. I remain grateful for all that Clayton taught and modeled. And, I hope that I am impacting lives as he impacted mine, through God's grace and mercy!

Clayton's words about Thanksgiving being a "bittersweet time" still ring true for me. He explained there is the joy of being with family gathered at the table and also sadness as loved ones who have gone home to the Lord are missed.
Clayton was an Associate pastor at Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church. He had a young family while serving our chuch.

I lost my home to Hurricane Ian Sept. 28th. When I went back to see that my entire life had been destroyed by the flood (5 feet of water in my home), I only grabbed a few things that were on shelves high enough to be salvaged.
As I was leaving my home for the very last time feeling shell shocked, sad, confused and scared about my future, a member of my demolition crew ran after me. She was holding a picture in her hand that she said I dropped on the way out of my home. It was a picture of Clayton and me when I was in junior high school at Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church (LOPC). I smiled and thought, "I didn't drop it, Clayton *placed* it there to give me strength and remind me that God will stand by me through this tragedy."
When I was interviewed by my former TV station, I told that story and showed our picture.
Thank you, Clayton.

I remember Claytin from 2nd Presbyterian in Memphis when he was still in college, and worked with the teens. He drove a Corvette, I think. He played guitar at singalongs. I've always remembered him. Sending out blessings to his friends & family.

I am grateful for all of the information that he provided to me as a retired pastor from the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (USA). His informational meetings were most helpful. I am also grateful for the way in which he was a very helpful resource to an interim pastor with whom I was working, helping her to understand her options as far as salary and benefits were concerned. It was so good to know he was there and was knowledgeable and always willing to give of his time and knowledge to help other clergy and churches.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Clayton?"
