I can’t say which day it was. Probably 3 days after his birth maybe?? I do remember I was 5 years and in kindergarten my baby sister Amy was 3. I remember he was born and my mom was heavily pregnant. It was 1977 and my mother asked my to tie her shoes which were stacked brown platforms. She couldn’t reach to tie them...lol. I remember my Grandma Slaughter took care of me and my sister during that time of his birth and before he came home from the hospital. We lived in Liberty, Missouri in an apartment complex called Wilshire. He was an avid thumb sucker which he would do and twirl the yarn on his blankie. I miss you so much Bubba
Me and Jake
2012, The Woodlands, TX, USA
My heart goes out to your family and friends Jake. You were such a great friend who always made time to help out. You were a great Dad and I saw it first hand when you would bring the girls to the house back in the day. Even the last time we saw each other, you helped me run some cameras on my house and all you talked about were your kids. You are going to be missed buddy. I pray for peace upon your family and will always remember you for the great guy you were. -Kirk

The Huft and Ristau families loved and cherished Jake so much as a brother, friend and family member. We have great memories to carry us forward and will always remember your energy, laughter, huge smile and passion. May your family find comfort during this most difficult time and may your memory be eternal. Love you!
My love and condolences to Jake’s family and the many close friends who considered him part of their family, as we did.

Friends are like family, only we choose them.
Jake was one of a kind. The kind of person who would do anything for you. He loved all of his friends and considered most of them family.
As someone who was lucky enough to have him cross my path quite a few times over the last 25 years catching up with him was always a good time. He’ll be dearly missed by my sister and I.

Family - Roxanne, John, TJ & Jill I’m so sorry for this extreme loss in your lives. Jake was very special to everyone.
