Claudia's obituary
Claudia received her primary and high school education while living in the Canal Zone of Panama. She attended primary school in Red Bank and the La Boca Occupational H.S. where she was an honor student. Claudia was taught the meaning of life by her beloved grandmother. Claudia and Andrew decide to move to Trinidad in 1957, with their children. Andrew was from Trinidad and he thought that Trinidad was great for their children to be raised but when the Claudia and Andrew and their children got their most of Andrew family was in Brooklyn New York so in 1965 they moved to America. She then obtained a position with the City of New York Department of Social Services as an intake administrator. Claudia retired from this position in 1992.
Claudia was a stern and loving mother. She worked hard to provide for her children and taught them many valuable lessons, especially skills relating to budgeting and finances. Claudia was a life-long learner who enjoyed activities that were mentally stimulating. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing crossword puzzles and scrabble. She earned the title “scrabble master.” Claudia learned how to drive at the age of 57 by her son Andrew. She continued driving until she turned 82 years old when she was turning blind and when her husband died in 2006 from cancer. She would frequently use her car to travel many places where she could provide support to those in need. This all came to end when the doctor diagnosis her with colon cancer and she died in her sleep on at home December 31 2015 thirty minutes before 2015 came to an end. She battel with cancer for two long years.
Claudia was predeceased by her children; son Gary Robison of Brooklyn New York, Andrew Robison 2nd (Sonia) of White planes New York, daughter Yvonne Perry ( Franklin) of Rosedale New York and Mary Marshall (William) Miami Florida and her younger sister Maria Johnson of Los Angels California; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life starting with a Viewing at Paul Lane Funeral Home, Inc. from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday January 8th following the next day will have the funeral services and the burial. The funeral will take place at St. Philips Episcopal /Anglican Church from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and she will be lie to rest at The Evergreen Cemetery from 2:14 pm to 3:00 pm.
