Claudia's obituary
Claudia Kimbrough Langerud passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on April 3, 1927, in Foard, Texas, Claudia lived a rich and full life defined by elegance, humor, and deep love for her family.
A graduate of N.R. Crozier Technical High School in Dallas in 1944, Claudia stood out not only for her intelligence but for her flair and creativity. She was a Pep Squad Majorette and proudly served as Secretary of the Commercial Art Club and a member of the Pottery Art Club.
In her early years, Claudia traveled internationally as a model for Neiman Marcus — a glamorous chapter in her life that led her to meet the love of her life, Finn Olof Langerud. They were married on September 18, 1954, and shared a devoted life together until his passing.
Claudia was the beloved mother of Finn Langerud (Donna), Erik Langerud (Randa), and Lars Langerud (Sarah), and was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzi Frizzell. She was a proud grandmother to Shanna, Taylor, Erika, Kristen, Austin, Whitney, Jake, and Keslie, and a cherished great-grandmother to their children.
Later in life, Claudia pursued her love for home décor by selling furniture and accessories for Crystal Clear. After retiring, she found great joy managing the resale shop at St. Christopher’s Church in Houston, combining her eye for style with her desire to give back.
Known for her impeccable taste, Claudia had an innate sense of style and a passion for decorating. She also had a legendary quick wit and was never one to hold back. Her candid stories and conversations, often delivered with a toss of her head, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Claudia leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and flair. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
