Claudia Maxine Hutchins, age 77, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on February 13, 2026 at Halifax Hospice in Orange City, Florida. Born February 6, 1949 in Fairmont, MN, Claudia was the oldest of 2 of Robert Conklin Sr and Maxine Conklin. Her father worked in the FAA which caused them to moved around, where she lived in California, North Carolina, Arizona and settled in Anchorage, Alaska where she graduated high school. She attended Hamline University just as her father did and where she met her husband Donald Hutchins. After leaving Hamline, she married Donald and moved to Massachusetts where they had both of their sons, Curtis and Ethan. In August 1977 they moved to Florida and settled in Deltona. She taught Aerobics, enjoyed traveling and volunteering at the Deltona Library, where she served and President of the Board and later Treasurer for over 20years. She was a member of the Deltona Jr Women’s Club, a collector of Torquay pottery, she also enjoyed British afternoon tea, her flowers and plants in her garden and loved her feline friends. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Hutchins and her 2 sons: Curtis Hutchins of Seattle, WA, Ethan (Melissa) Hutchins of Deltona, FL and her 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth Holmes, Aidan Hutchins, Liam Hutchins, Evan Hutchins, Luke Hutchins and great grandchildren: Magnolia Holmes, Benjamin Holmes. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Beth) Conklin Jr of Anchorage, AK.

A celebration of life for Claudia will be held on June 6, 2026, from 3p-5p at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. MLK Blvd, Deltona, FL 32725.
