Celebrating Claudia Sue Behymer
02/16/1951 – 04/06/2025
Claudia, 74, a lifelong resident of Ohio, passed away at Anderson Mercy Hospital due to a heart attack. She passed in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aril 6th, 2025. Claudia is the daughter of the late James R. Behymer and Nance Lee Court-Behymer. She is Sister of Jenni Bailey, James Behymer, and Charles Behymer. Mother to Donald W. Stegemoller, Charles A. Stegemoller, and Crystal A. Stegemoller. Claudia also has several grandchildren, two great grandchildren (and more on the way), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Claudia was extremely talented; she was a true artist, great writer, and storyteller. Her ability to turn pastels into a photo-like scene was truly out of this world. She was a professional caricature and portrait artist at Kings Island in the mid 1970s. Claudia dabbled in pencil and paint, although pastels were truly her favorite media. Claudia also worked in ceramics and with clay. She even made miniature houses with all the furnishings, including tiny artwork to make the little homes complete. Most of her materials for these projects were found in nature, outside her own back door. Claudia had a way with words; her stories were elaborate and so very detailed. One could easily see her stories play out like a movie. She was mechanically inclined and had a brilliant mind. There was nothing she couldn’t accomplish once she set her mind to it. The word "talent" is a true understatement!
Claudia was truly a creative being and had other interests as well. She loved The Beatles. She put together an awesome scrap book along with other memorabilia. She also loved Tom Selleck and would refuse to turn the TV off at night until she got to see his smile at the start of Magnum P.I. Claudia also wrote many songs. A few were for her own children, unique lyrics with “borrowed” tunes. In the late 80s, one of her songs “Fire” was adopted and played by a local band. It even made it to the radio (WOBO)! Claudia enjoyed long walks in nature and was occasionally up for sharing that serenity with others. She enjoyed going on trips and exploring new places with her good friend and Godmother to her children, Beverly Meyers. She also had an extensive rock collection from all over the world. Many of which were given to her by family and friends. Claudia leaves behind many who loved her, as well as her very special friend, Stephen B. Moore.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Claudia, hosted by her children, on Sunday, May 4th, 2025. This will take place between the hours of 2pm and 6pm in the Community Room at Clermont Villa Apartments, Owensville, Ohio.
