Claude's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Claude Metzger, who left us on December 27, 2024. Born on January 19, 1960, Claude lived a vibrant life full of color, passion, and a unique sense of humor. His personality was best described as grumpy and outgoing, and he carried these qualities with him until his final days.

He was a man of simple joys, finding happiness in the crunch of KFC chicken, the refreshing taste of Mountain Dew. He enjoyed visiting his favorite waitress Darla at Brothers.

The exhilarating thrill of the Eminem music. Claude was a dedicated fan of the TV shows aired on history and often revisited the action-packed scenes of his favorite movies, Billy Jack and Jeremiah Johnson.

A passionate supporter of the Atlanta Braves team, he derived great joy from playing Monopoly and spending his leisure time fishing and collecting stuffed animals.

More than anything, however, Claude loved the great outdoors. Hiking in the mountains was his preferred way to exercise, and he held fond memories of vacationing at Knoebels. Locally, he loved visiting Three Mile Island, often citing its good fishing  and peaceful atmosphere. Claude's favorite color was blue, a color that perfectly matched his cheerful demeanor and zest for life.

Throughout his life, Claude made no secret of his love for Animals, often advocating for their protection and welfare. This cause was dear to his heart, and he invested significant time and resources in supporting it. He also cherished witnessing live music performances, an experience he referred to as transformative.

Claude is survived by his son, SPC. Tristan J. Metzger, of Fort Carson Colorado and his daughter, Cora of York, Pa. They will remember their father as a man full of life, passion, and an unyielding love for his family.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Tonya Metzger, and his mother and father, who we find comfort in thinking have welcomed him into eternal rest.

Claude's life was a testament to finding joy in the simplest of pleasures and cherishing every moment. His light continues to shine brightly in our hearts and memory.

Any one wishing to honor Claude in his life is encouraged make a donation to your local animal shelter or neuter clinic, please celebrate his life in a fashion you know he would enjoy.
