Clark Harold Skeans

February 1, 1939 – September 25, 2024

Clark Harold Skeans was born February 1, 1939, in Portland, Oregon to Harold and Florence Skeans. Clark and his family eventually moved to Fruitland, Idaho, where he attended school and worked in many roles in logistics at Ore-Ida Foods following his college years. He also served time in the Idaho National Guard.

In 1965, Clark met and married Vivian Alftin. They welcomed their first daughter, Patricia Ann in July of 1966 followed by their second daughter Kristine Elaine in June of 1969. For the next thirteen years the family lived in several locations in Boise, Idaho. Vivian was a National Fiddle Champion which cultivated his love for fiddle music and the National Contests held annually in Weiser, Idaho. After almost 17 years of marriage, Clark and Vivian ended their marriage.

After many years working for Ore-Ida Foods, Clark relocated to Goodyear, Arizona and his interest switched to helping secure food products for charity. He assisted the Arizona Statewide Gleaning Project and achieved several goals set by that organization and became instrumental to the organization in the continuation of its commitment for years. In June 1997, he won an award for superior service by the United States Secretary of Agriculture.

In 2003, Clark met and married Martha Louchheim from Arizona. This was the most rewarding and satisfying time of Clark’s life, traveling the world with Martha to some of the most exciting and exotic places mostly by cruise ships. It was during this time that he turned his life over to Christ and was baptized in the Jordan River during one of his cruise excursions. Sadly, in 2017, Clark lost his beloved Martha to a stroke.

Clark’s interest and love for fiddle music continued, making annual trips from his home in Arizona to the distant town of Weiser, Idaho where he had made friends throughout the years with many staff members and musicians who competed year after year. He was an avid College Baseball fan and always had his season tickets to the Arizona State University Sun Devils baseball games.

Clark is preceded in death by his mother, Florence Johnson, father, Harold Skeans, step-father, Wilbur Johnson, brother, Doug Johnson and niece, Teri Bell.

Clark is survived by his daughters, Patty Kilpatrick and Kristine Britt. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Keith Kilpatrick and grandson, Connor Kilpatrick. Other survivors include his sister, Carol Jones, nephew Richard Smith, nephew Topper Bell and family and sister-in-law, Sharon Johnson and family.
