Clark's obituary

Clark Alan Peters, 60, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on March 2, 2024 after a battle with renal cell carcinoma.

Clark was born on November 17, 1963 in San Jose CA. Clark was a graduate of Prospect High School and a proud childhood resident of Greene Drive. Clark enjoyed an active childhood filled with competitive sports such as swimming, baseball, soccer and a passion for the great outdoors. His youth was spent making friendships with other Greene Drive kids that would last a lifetime. Clark was also an Eagle Scout and he earned his black belt in Aikido.

In 1984 Clark met his future wife,Karen Abbott, beginning a love that conquered all for 40 years. Clark and Karen wed in 1991 and had four wonderful daughters, Sarah, Christine, Erika, and Audrey, who he loved fiercely. Clark was also known to accept and love anyone who needed it. He was a father figure and mentor to his niece Ruby, son in law John, and treasured friends Joel Purnell and Jake McDaniel.

Clark was a passionate fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Everton FC, and the Tennessee Volunteers after he and his family moved to Tennessee in 1998. He was a well beloved patron of Bucket Head Tavern and other west Knoxville watering holes where he leaves behind countless friends and a Miller Lite or PBR.

Clark was predeceased by his mother Barbra, father Glenn, his half brother Gary and beloved sister Alyson Sheffield. He is survived by his treasured wife Karen, his daughter Sarah Perry, her husband John Perry and his granddaughter Kathryn Perry, his daughter Christine Peters, his daughter Erika Peters and her partner Gabriel Grindstaff, his daughter Audrey Peters; his nieces Ruby Speer, Rachael Burton, Kathryn Sheffield, and Anna Abbott;  his nephews Michael Peters, Keith Speer Jr, and Michael Abbot; his brothers in law Keith Speer Sr, Randy Sheffield and Greg Abbott and his step mother Jean Peters.

A celebration of life will be held at Bucket Head Tavern on Sunday 3/17/2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Karen’s ongoing costs of caring for her daughter Chrissy and recovering from the financial burden she underwent during Clark’s illness. Donations can be made to Karen or Sarah via Venmo @Karenmpeters65 and @Sarah-Perry514 or however you feel comfortable.

Clark Peters was a loving and dedicated grandfather, father, husband and friend. He will be missed greatly, but his memory will be honored by the lives lived by the ones he loved.
