Clarencia's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clarencia Clemons, who was born on December 16, 2009, and passed away on October 4, 2023. Clarencia's radiant spirit, courageous determination, and unwavering love of life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She leaves behind a loving family who cherished her immensely: sisters DeAndrea McCarthy, Claresha Clemons, Prichielle McCarthy, and brothers Clarence and Isaiah Clemons.
Clarencia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved savoring her favorite foods - fries, cheeseburgers, chicken, greens, dirty rice, and corn, often accompanied by a glass of fresh orange juice. R&B music was her soundtrack, a rhythm she carried into her favorite pastime of singing and dancing. One could often find Clarencia engrossed in episodes of 'House' or enjoying her favorite films 'Love and Basketball,' 'Save the Last Dance,' and 'The Notebook.'
She not only exhibited a competitive spirit while playing Connect Four, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Scrabble, but also by ardently supporting the Lakers. Her eyes would light up during Disney on Ice performances and her heart would fill with joy during walks with her beloved dog, Pepper. Clarencia's favorite local spot, Five Guys, was a testament to her love for comfort food and her preferred vacation spot, Disneyland, a reflection of her childlike, vibrant spirit.
An ardent animal lover, Clarencia also had a flair for colours with purple and pink being her most adored. Her personality was best described as bubbly, warm, witty, kind, and caring. Clarencia's life lessons centered around not underestimating the abilities of young people, overestimating her own abilities, and being always willing to help others.
Her short but impactful life had its fair share of accomplishments. Everything Clarencia did was an accomplishment in itself. Doctors doubted her longevity past her first 2-3 years of life, but she defied their predictions and lived every day like it was her last. Her legacy urges us to take stock of all the things in life that make it uniquely ours.
Clarencia's warmth, wit, and resilience will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May her memory be a blessing and a beacon of hope for us all.
