CLarence's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence Hughes on November 26, 2023. Born March 3, 1942, Clarence lived a full and loving life and will be missed by all who knew him.
Clarence leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish his memory forever. His wife, Lavern Hughes, marked many years of blissful matrimony with him. He was a devoted father to his children, Lisa Patterson, Lora Smith, Wendell Hughes, Lolita Smith, Litonia Johnson, Lazurus Hughes, Joshu, Maruice Hughes, and Limain Hughes. Clarence was a loving brother to his sister, Mary L. Henderson. His family legacy also extends to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosie L Hughes and John A. Hughes, and his sons, Verlander Murphy and Robert Hughes. Their memory remained with him throughout his life, as will his with those he leaves behind.
Clarence had a distinct taste for life. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of a good Pepsie drink. He loved spending his leisure time watching his favorite TV show, Sanford and Son, and his beloved movies, Mississippi Burning and Friday. A fan of game shows, he often spent his evenings engrossed in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or Wheel of Fortune. His favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas, held a special place in his heart whenever he reminisced about his travels.
Throughout his life, Clarence was passionate about his family. His children were his most treasured cause, and he dedicated his life to their happiness and success.
Remembered for his kindness and generosity, Clarence's legacy will be an everlasting beacon to those who knew him. His gentle soul, compassionate heart, and friendly disposition made him a joy to be around. He made a significant impact on his community and everyone he encountered, and his absence will be deeply felt.
