Clarence's obituary

Clarence Noboru Haseyama, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024, in San Diego, CA, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 19, 1933, in Honolulu, HI, to Toso and Sachiko Haseyama, and raised by his grandparents in Maui.

Clarence leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette, and their children Jodi Vachon (Mike) and Todd Haseyama (Amy). He was a doting grandfather to Matthew (Nicole), Darian, Kai, and Blake, and a proud great-grandfather to David and Evan. Clarence also had 2 siblings, survived by Sanford Haseyama and Dora Shimabukuro (predeceased).

Clarence spent his formative years in Hawaii before making San Diego his home. His commitment to service led him to the United States Air Force, where he served with honor. Following his military service, Clarence completed his business degree at San Diego State University, and embarked on a fulfilling career as an auditor for the City of San Diego. Clarence dedicated the next 30 years of his work life to the City, ending his career at the same place where it all began, loyal to the end.

A true sports enthusiast, Clarence enjoyed various athletic pursuits during his youth. However, it was the sport of bowling that captured his heart. Throughout his life, he actively participated in leagues, forming lasting bonds within the bowling community and finding success in national tournaments.

Known for his generosity, loyalty, and selflessness, Clarence placed the needs of others above his own. He was a pillar of strength for his family, providing unwavering support and love. His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, leaving behind a tapestry of memories filled with warmth and kindness.

In honoring Clarence Noboru Haseyama, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him and the enduring impact of his love. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his family find solace in the cherished memories they shared.

For those who wish to pay their respects, services will be held at the Buddhist Temple of San Diego on March 10, 2024 at 2PM, with reception to follow.
