Obituary
Clare Marie Oechsle.
February 9th, 1961 – December 23rd, 2024
Clare Marie Oechsle (Crane), on December 23rd 2024, passed away at the age of 63. She was born on February 9th, 1961 to Marie & Thomas Crane. Clare received her early education and was baptized in the Catholic faith at Immaculate Conception Elementary School where she was also a member of the drill squad. She attended and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty Catholic High School in 1979. She worked many jobs however she was most notably employed at Jules Jurgensen. She was raised by both Marie & Thomas, as well as her Aunt Marge McGuire after the passing of her mother Marie when Clare was at the age of 13. Beloved partner of John Patrick Brennan Jr. Devoted mother to Kelly Marie Schlueter (Shawn), Colleen Marie Oechsle (Brian), and John Patrick Brennan III (Gina). Dear sister to Michael & Jimmy Crane, and the late John & Thomas Crane. Loving nanny to Riley Anne Schlueter (Kelly), Daniel “Danny” Alan Schlueter Jr.(Kelly), Aiden Andrew Smith (Kelly), McKenzee Marie Schlueter (Colleen), and the late Audrina Marie Schlueter (Colleen).
Above all else, Clare was known for loving and adoring her family. She was known by many titles, but was most proud of “Mother” and “nanny”. She was an amazing mother, and nanny to her “littles” as she referred to her grandbabies. You couldn’t talk to her without her mentioning how proud she was of any and all of her kids and her littles. The strong majority of photos that include Clare, also included one or a combination of her kids and grandkids. Clare was a loving, fun, intelligent, and honest person throughout her entire life. She was always known for “keeping it real” and never sugarcoating anything to anyone. She was also known for her trademark laugh, and unique and “wacky” sense of humor, that would always pull forth full belly laughs from whomever she was with. She enjoyed gardening and referred to her plants as her “babies”. She often enjoyed the simple pleasures of a Wawa coffee, and either sitting on the porch of her Juniata home with her girlfriends and neighbors, keeping a watchful eye on the children of the neighborhood, or cleaning the street which would inspire others to come out and join in along with her. She was family to everyone who knew her, always going above and beyond, and being a trusted member of everyone’s circle. She was a safe space for anyone to come and talk to about anything, and could and did keep secrets as she described as “Fort Knox”. Clare was also known for being a loyal and true friend. She had many friends, but none closer than her childhood friends, Susan, Rose, and Joyce, who were with her and supported her until she took her final breath. She had many stories she loved to tell about their friendship and all the wild things they got into throughout their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, 9am, at the Keene Funeral Home located at 5731 Race Street Philadelphia, PA, 19139. 11am Service, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary located 3301 W Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA, 19150.
