Dr. Clara Powell Davis, born July 21, 1972, in Framingham, Massachusetts, peacefully transitioned on November 10, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina. Clara was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose radiant smile and generous spirit touched everyone she met.

A proud alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Clara built a meaningful career in dentistry and later fulfilled her dream of opening Open Wide Family Dentistry in Durham. She was known for her compassionate care, her commitment to mentoring young professionals, and her belief in “transforming smiles from the inside out.”

Clara was a faithful member of First Calvary Baptist Church and an active supporter of the Southern High School Band, joyfully serving as a Band Booster mom as her daughter followed in her musical footsteps.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; her beloved daughter, Hope; her mother, Laura; her siblings, Mary and Scott; bonus daughters, grandchildren, and a large extended family who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Powell Jr.

Clara’s legacy of service, kindness, and joy will live on in the many lives she touched.
