The world lost a beautiful, loving soul on July 6, 2025.

Clara Christine Connelly was born in Laredo, TX, on June 19, 1976, to Mark and Jane Connelly. Over the years, Clara, a United High School Class of 1995 graduate, lived in Laredo, Plano, and Houston, Texas as well as Madison, Alabama, but her heart was always with the place her family had lived for generations: Laredo. Clara was the great-great granddaughter of Alphonse Siros, founder of the Siros Store in downtown Laredo that has been in continuous operation by the Siros family since 1881. Over the years, Clara worked at the store in various positions. She was very proud of the family's history in serving downtown Laredo.

Clara also loved working to save animals. She was employed for many years as a kennel technician at veterinary clinics in Texas and Alabama. She also worked as a volunteer with the Laredo Animal Protective Society. Her home was always filled with animals that others had deemed worthless, but Clara knew their lives had worth. She saved so many animals and found new homes for them. Her dedication was boundless.

Clara's love of travel led her to other states and countries. Germany was a particular favorite. She also enjoyed movies and gaming. In addition, she delighted in interacting with her favorite streamers on YouTube and Twitch. She likewise enjoyed going to fandom conventions, and she would easily charm her favorite celebrities there.

Clara's sunny personality could easily charm anyone. She described herself as a feisty people person, who loved to laugh, dance, and sing. She had an infectious laugh that would make everyone giggle along with her. She was unfailingly kind, and she always tried to stay positive. Her spirit was like a light in the darkness. She faced adversity without ever losing the sparkle in her soul.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Mark A. Connelly and Eva Jane Siros Connelly of Laredo; her aunt Eleanor “Susie” Siros Gist of Beaumont; her twin uncles Clinton G. Siros Jr, and David G. Siros of Beaumont; and her uncles David and Stephen Connelly of Ridgecrest, California. She is survived by her brother, Clinton James Connelly of Houston; Emily Gist of Houston, who was a sister more than a cousin; her uncle Ernst A. Siros and his spouse Aleda of Camarillo, California; her aunt Marilyn Siros Levaas and her spouse Larry of Huntsville, Alabama; her Aunt Carolyn Siros Mauzy of Denton, Texas; her aunt Michele Davis and her spouse Dave of Lake Elsinore, California; and many beloved cousins and lifelong friends.

A memorial service is being planned for Clara.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clara's name at the Laredo Animal Protective Society.
