Cindy's obituary
Cindy Skaruppa, 69, of Inverness, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 06, 2023. Cindy was born in Homestead, Pa, the daughter of Lyle Agnew and Evonne Hatch. Cindy spent her working years as a Doctorate in Education. Cindy loved teaching, recruiting, and traveling the world. Her job often took her to many different countries including, China and Switzerland. Cindy was a professor in Switzerland for a couple of years with her late husband Jerry. She moved back to the states and continued her career in education until her retirement from Cleveland State. Her retirement years were spent in Inverness, Fl, spending time with her family and friends. Cindy enjoyed her courtyard full of plants and flowers. She loved movies, watching her alumni the Ohio State Buckeyes play football, reading, going to the local farmer's market, and trying her hand at painting. Cindy loved life and cooking was her passion.
Cindy was predeceased by her mother Evonne Hatch, her father Lyle Agnew, her late husband Jerry Work, her nephew Brad Agnew, and her grandson Tate Flick.
She is survived by her children, Erin (Ryan) Flick her grandchildren Gracen and Thatcher; Jenni (John) Bradley her grandchildren Ryland, Harlan, and Kinley; and her son Tyler Skaruppa. Her brother James (Jill) Agnew; nephew Jim Agnew and niece Staci Haas, her great nieces Claire, Eleanore, and Erna as well as her great nephew Evan. Her brother Jeffrey (Jan) Agnew; nephew Jeff Agnew and great niece Julia and great nephew Justin. Her sister Mary (Mario) Geraca. Her brother Lyle (Carmen) Agnew and her nieces Kristen Arroyo and great nephew Kain and great niece Zoey, Natalie Agnew and her great niece Ariadney, and Jaqueline Agnew.
In lieu of a public celebration of life, we as a family ask you to remember Cindy as a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
