Background
Chuck and Julie have lived conservatively and wonderfully, despite many struggles. Dad had always been the primary provider of our large family of seven, with mom's supplemental income as an artist. Dad worked for 25 years with Simpich Character Dolls in Old Colorado City, until it closed it's doors years ago. Dad's health caused them to move to Arizona 6 years ago, with the help of my mom's sister and brother-in-law (who have since passed away).
Dad served in the military, so the VA will reimburse a minimal amount, thankfully.
With the passing of my dad, mom loses his disability and VA compensation, and will live off of their savings and her social security for the duration of her life.
I'd love to see her preserve as much of that as possible, and not see it disappear, simply so she could bury her true love of 49 years, as honorably as possible.
A grave site plot and head stone are still needing to be purchased, along with all things funeral. Almost all of us kids and our families, will travel from out of state to AZ for the funeral, so it would also help her to offset the costs of hosting and accommodating shared meals, travel assistance and extra utility usage for anyone coming.
