Miss hearing your voice Chris. It’s yo-yo Ma over! Love you forever 🥰.
My deepest condolences to all whom Chris touched. I have just learned of Chris' passing and am so sad. We had lost touch, but 30+ years later I can still hear his voice. We knew each other in Mississauga and were very good friends for a number of years until he moved away. One of my fondest memories (and there are a lot) was a trip him and I took to Charleston. A few days before we left on our 18 hour road trip, I remember him handing me a couple of cassette tapes and told me to learn the words to every song - one was Jimmy Buffet and the other James Taylor. I still know the words and listen to one or the other almost every single day since!

RIP my friend - I will continue to remember you fondly always.

To my dear daughter Daisy! There are no right words to erase the pain you feel. But remember that your beloved Chris will be with you forever. He walks beside you everyday. “Unseen & unheard” — but always near.
Chris had touched so many lives in more ways than we could imagine. I’m forever grateful for the times spent with him in person, on the phone, via texts, or emails.

Cheers to you Chris for loving my daughter Daisy in your inimitable style. Every time Chris and I spoke on the phone, he’d say words of reassurance like: “YoYo ma I love ❤️ our Daisy and always will. “ And I’d say back to him: “ Thanks for telling me that the - nth time Chris. “

Chris and I shared a common passion for food and cooking. Over the years he’d send me emails with pictures of his new creations which he took pride of.
One I recall was a vivid table setting for two with a caption: Final Result - Chorizo Scramble.

I will always cherish the little talks we had on the phone whether it was just a quick hello, or to see what I’ve been up to. Other times we’d talk about his beloved mom Rosemary, or his fond memories of South Carolina, or about Daisy and her professional accomplishments. God bless his soul. I miss you dearly Chris!

Daisy please know that I’m thinking of you always. I am here for you and wish you comfort and peace on your journey.

In closing I’d like to quote R. Waldo Emerson’s words that reflects Chris’ life philosophy: “ I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show for any fellow creature let me do it now — for I shall not pass this way again. “

THIS IS THE MESSAGE FROM MY BROTHER LEE SOBREMONTE FOR HIS LAST GOODBYE TO CHRIS....

Chris when I first met you in Vancouver you and my sister were just starting to date.   I was impressed by your energy and personality.   I knew you were a good guy for my sister.  Two thumbs up.  A couple of years later I’m going down to LA for your awesome destination wedding.   An awesome time where I got to meet your family including Josh.   As the years went by you stood by my sister.   I always understood how much you loved her and cared for her.   She was in good hands.  I know the last few years hasn’t been great with your health and personal demons.  Through it all you attempted to change and move on.   The past is in the past.   You will be deeply missed by “US” your Family.  Honorary Filipino.   I will miss my brother Chris.   This isn’t goodbye this is a see ya later.    Thank you for your kind heart.   I hope you find peace wherever you are.   God Bless !
Lianne, Anthony and entire family......so sorry for your loss.

Thinking of you all

Rob and Candace

It’s taken me a while to process all of this. While we haven’t been extremely close in the past several years, we shared many a memory and experience in our past. My heart goes out to you Daisy. Chris was everything you said in his obituary. A true friend who really cared. Will be praying for you.
