Christopher's obituary
Christopher Vaught, 71, of York, PA, passed away on October 24, 2022 after complications from recent strokes.
Christopher was born on August 24, 1951 to Margaret & Joseph Vaught at St. Joseph Hospital and resided in Fallston, Maryland. After graduating from Bel Air High School he later went on to study Communications at Harford Community College.
He was married to the now deceased Patricia Vaught who was his rock and stabilizing force and even in her death he loved her fiercely - she made him a better man and gave her all the credit for the joy in their life. They had 3 children - that he loved so much and was very proud of - Shannon Michelle White, Adam Joseph Vaught & Andrew Christopher Vaught. And he was known as Pappy to his 7 grandchildren - Shannon’s children - Zachary & Ethan Duick; Adam’s son - Riley Vaught and Andrew’s four children - Cole, Adilynn, Hudson & Logan Vaught.
Christopher was a force of nature. He had strong passions in life including music, baseball, the Baltimore Ravens and movies. He was a radio disc jockey at The Underground and then onto overnights at Baltimore’s 98 Rock. Later he dedicated his time to coaching youth baseball with his son’s and then after they graduated he continued with his baseball passion as the Commissioner with the Maryland Legion in Cecil County.
He was unendingly proud of his children and his grandchildren and truly loved being Pappy. He had a soft side for furry creatures and took loving care of his dog, Pup Pup and his cat, Sheba. He loved Landscaping, Maryland Crabs, Apple Pie, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne & James Bond, Heavy Metal and Jack Daniel’s.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help the family cover cremation and burial costs. There will not be an immediate memorial service, but rather a small celebration of life when the family places his ashes in his final resting place at Bel Air Memorial Gardens next to his beloved wife, Patricia.
In his last words…”Adapt to the changes and go with the flow so I will see you sometime if not in this life it will be the next…”
We ask you to to raise a beer or a glass of whiskey and toast to big dreams, family and one day an Orioles win in the World Series and a Ravens win at the Super Bowl.
We will all see him on the other side…Rest in Peace.
