Christopher's obituary

Christopher Anthony Roller was the firstborn of Cathy (Ronish) and Ernie Roller on June 14, 1967 (Flag Day) in Santa Maria, California. He would live there for his first two years, then briefly live in Colorado Springs, CO. Five years would be spent in Buffalo, MN and then from 1975 until graduation in 1985 would be in Redwood Falls, MN. After graduation, Chris would then join the Navy as a Nuclear Engineer, graduating number 2 in his class of 600. He would spend some time overseas during his 6 year enlistment but mostly lived in Norfolk, VA. Chris married Maria Cartwright (Bahamas) on __________. After completing his enlistment, he got his degree from University of Florida, Gainesville, in Computer Engineering. (?) Maria and Chris became parents to Dillon Jon Roller on July 11, 1997 and again to Nicole Carmel Roller on March 7, 1999 where they resided in Burnsville, MN. They would also live Sioux Falls, SD, and Redwood Falls, MN as a family. Maria and Chris divorced in 2004 (?) and she returned to the Bahamas with the children. Chris moved around a lot in the next several years living in Redwood Falls, MN, Orlando, FL and Colorado Springs, CO, where his long term battle with Bi-Polar Depression would finally come to peace.

Chris had many talents. In addition to being a whiz in the sciences and math, he was excellent as a child in bowling (got 300 as an adult and averaged over two hundred then). He played tennis extremely well and was a good golfer. Since Chris was just a little one he has sung and hummed around the house. I can see him still walking around and singing "Oats, peas, beans and barley grow" that he was learning in early school as part of a program. He learned to play acoustic guitar and then various other guitars in high school and was part of a rock band at that time. Fortunately we are left with many recordings by him but my favorite was written by him, words and music. By then he knew keyboard as well as all the high tech knowledge it took to add other accompaniment to the song. It was approximately 15 years ago and I loved it then, now and forever. Several years ago Chris was singing at a public event that he was paid to do. He sang this song and it was the first time I heard it. I asked him the name and he said "You Raise Me Up by Josh Grobhan. Thankfully it is one of his songs that he uploaded. https://www.youtube.com/watch…

Chris was dearly loved by many, especially his children, Dillon and Nicole, whom he adored. He is proceeded in death by sisters Alethea Dawn Roller (1974) and Stephanie Roller Bruner (2010). He leaves behind his parents, Ernie & Cathy Roller (Redwood Falls, MN) sisters Ramona Roller (Newnan, GA) & Cari (Duane) Panitzke (Winthrop, MN) and brother Aaron (Carol) Roller (Sausality, CA). This site (reference: Celebrating Chris Roller -- facebook) is intended to share stories and pictures and prayers about and for Chris and those who miss him on this side but celebrate that he now has the peace and wings he has been longing for. It is appropriate for me to end my tribute to Chris with a link to this song. Follow along with the words. His "wish" for others is now what he is living. Enjoy! http://rockandrollerband.com/…
