Chris was born on August 26, 1981 in Boulder, Colorado to Denise Geck. Denise met Greg Redman in Boulder in 1984 and Greg immediately loved Chris as his son. They moved to Tucson in 1984. Greg and Denise got married in 1986. Chris graduated from Sabino High School in 2000 before going to Wyoming to attend WyoTech for auto mechanic school.
