Chris's obituary

Christopher Peter Raimondi passed away on February 12th 2021, he was 49. Chris was absolutely brilliant and had a thirst for knowledge that could not be quenched. Wanting to better-understand how the world worked, he taught himself ‘R’ and Python in order to analyze data. He then proceeded to win 1st place in a Data Science competition for Kaggle. He was ultimately so successful with his passion, he was invited to speak to employees of Google as well as the Hubble Telescope program on the topic of data analytics.

He was a die-hard Liberal and was passionate about politics and the law. He would perform data analysis of elections just for fun. He took on the State of Maryland and won an appellate court case against the MVA completely on his own and without a law degree. (Raimondi vs. Motor Vehicle Administration of Maryland, Maryland Court of Special Appeals, Sept. Term, 1996 No. 1223).

When he was 15, he got a visit from the Secret Service and had his computer confiscated because he was trying to get in touch with the President...just to see if he could. And he would have, he got through all the checks that the secretaries had for such calls...but the President wasn’t in.

He had a fantastic sense of humor. He was a phenomenal photographer. He was a Star Wars fanatic. He was kind, sensitive, a loyal friend and he loved deeply and without judgement.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Joan; uncle, Bill Buesching; aunt, Lenita Raymond; and his dear friend Elizabeth Thorpe. He leaves behind his dad, Peter; sister, Jennifer Mitri; her husband, Don; his dear nephew, Gabe; his aunts and uncles: Wayne and Ana Lucia Porter; Barry and Cinta Porter; Marie Buesching; and many cousins that he adored.

His friends meant the world to him and he leaves behind dear friends James Riley, Graham Martin, Brian Slater, Lou Alvano, Maggie Finen, Catherine Thorpe, Beth Nash, Mikey Parker, Hayden Nicley, Damian Possey and Kim Gregorek. There are many others, some as far away as Germany that were dear to him, he would have wanted you to know how much he loved you.

A memorial service will be planned for the summer. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to: Anxiety and Depression Association of America https://adaa.org/.
