Christopher's obituary
Chris was the Los Angeles Deputy Bureau Chief for CBS and joined the network in 2017. CBS News President Susan Zirinsky and CBS News Executive Vice President, Kim Godwin shared that “Chris was an instant champion for our network and our colleagues." Godwin also worked with Chris at KNBC in Los Angeles in the 2000s and shared "He was a passionate newsman who excelled at breaking news and who also had the common touch among his peers. Chris worked at a variety of news organizations prior to joining CBS News, including ABC and NBC, earning multiple awards along the way.
Survivors include one daughter, Brooke M. North of Indianapolis, Indiana; Brothers Charles “Chip” Myers and wife Lee Myers of Carthage, New York; One nephew, David Myers of Seattle, Washington; Brother Michael and wife Gyla W. Myers of Wildwood, Missouri; Two nieces, Lauren E. Myers and Lola V. Myers of Wildwood, Missouri; and his dear friends that he’s known since grade school, Mike Tucker, Scott Blakely, Tim Davis, and Greg Burd. Chris lived with his partner, Annie Wasserman and her daughter, Madison at the time of his death.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles C. Myers, and his mother, Joyce Ann Myers, formerly of Carbondale. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 4pm at Pinch Penny Pub and all are invited to celebrate the life of Chris at that time.
