I will always remember  our super fun karaoke Christmas madness from over the past years and  how special it was as a family each year just to be together! From being stuck at our house for an unexpected snow storm on Christmas Day to fun times traveling to Owensboro to swinging back to Christmas in Chattanooga the last several years! Chris Loved Franchesca more than anything and then his four legged fur babies were 2nd to none! He will be missed  and always loved!!!

From Scott:

As a journalist, words tend to come easy. In this case, I have no clue where to start. Perhaps, I’ll attempt to start here:

Chris and I had been friends for more than 40 years. We were next door neighbors when we first met. Two kids living life in the early to mid 1980s.

We did what two kids do. We played. We fought. We probably shared a couple, “Stay off my property” moments. But most of all, we laughed and grew to count on each other.

Sure. The years passed. We grew older. I moved. He moved. But we always kept in touch. Our friendship was deeply rooted.

Two kids became teenagers. Those teenagers then became young adults. We were experiencing life. We often shared the highs and lows.

The years passed.

We both lost our moms unexpectedly. Chris and his family were there for me. Chris presided over my mom’s funeral. How impressed she would have been. How honored my family was to have you see us through some of our darkest days.

I turned 50 this year. Admittedly, Chris and I hadn’t spoken on the phone in some time. Facebook made it easy to feel connected when what was truly missing was a face-to-face conversation. A phone call.

Like most of us, we thought there would be another day. Another day to reminisce about the good ole days.

I’m sorry, pal. I’m sorry I didn’t have another chance to call you friend.

Thank you for enriching my life and all those you surrounded yourself with throughout the years. Heaven is lucky to have you, even as we, here, sort through why you left so soon.

I now figure you are there sharing life’s stories with your mom and my mom. Oh, the things you might be saying. LOL

You’ll never be forgotten, and one day- I’ll see you face-to-face again to say, “Thanks, for always being my friend.”

Always in my thoughts.

- Scott

From Aunt Lauren:

Aunt Lauren was asking Chris how Kindergarten was going. He was very enthusiastic, saying how much he loved math and how good he was.  She , not wanting to insult him ask, "ok, what is two plus two?".  He smiled and said "oh we haven't gotten to the hard stuff yet".
