Christopher's obituary

Christopher Lee Mariani, aged 42, of Sandy, Utah passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2023. Originally from Sharpsville, PA Chris had been a resident of the area for 16 years. Chris was a life long skier, a passion of his since childhood, being pulled around on plastic skis at his grandparents home in Buena Vista, Colorado. His love of skiing was something he took great joy in sharing with others as a dedicated instructor for the Alf Engen Ski School. In addition to his love of skiing, Chris was a gregarious person who loved his multitude of friends, more than one of them considering Chris as their Best friend. His enormous heart and hospitality was always on display hosting parties as frequently as he could and feeding his friends and neighbors his highly delectable BBQ.

Along with his love of skiing, cooking and people, Chris's greatest pride and joy was his children to whom he devoted his life. He fiercely loved and protected his family with the heart of a lion. Chris's outgoing personality and generosity of love of others, his knack for lifting spirits and making people laugh, will be painfully missed by us all.

Chris is survived by his wife Sarah Peterson and her daughter Oakley, his beloved children Jonahven, Amelie and their mother Jen, his parents Ray and Suzanne, and his brothers Brian, Ray and Brett.

A memorial fund has been established to help defray funeral costs, and a website for friends and family to share stories and condolences. A celebration of Chris's life is being planned at Alta, Utah and details will be shared once they are finalized.
