Chris's obituary
Christopher Gordon “Chris” Hendriks, 87, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. He was born on January 26, 1938, in Jamaica, West Indies to Gordon “Pops” and Natalie Hendriks.
Chris lived a long and industrious life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and quiet faith.
Chris is survived by his children, Christopher L.G. Hendriks of Dallas, Texas, Robert A. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Morgan Hendriks, Kaitlyn Hendriks Bertone with husband Brandon Bertone, Chase Hendriks, Joey Smith, and great grandchildren Presley and Enzo Bertone.
Chris married Angela, with whom he shared two sons, Christopher L.G. and Robert A. He later married Pati, lovingly welcoming her daughter Kelly and her son Kenny into his heart and home. Angela, Pati, stepson Kenny, brother William, and sister Diana preceded him in death.
Chris grew up helping his father, “Pops,” manage the family cattle and sugar cane ranch. These early experiences instilled in him a lifelong work ethic. A graduate of Monroe College (Preparatory School) and the University of the West Indies, Chris became a registered Chartered Engineer and a member of the British Institution of Chemical Engineers. Chris pursued a distinguished career as a chemical engineer, designing aluminum plants across the globe. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after many years of exemplary service but continued consulting internationally in his later years.
A man of humor, craftsmanship, and quiet faith, Chris found joy in hunting, fishing, ceramics, and woodworking. Chris created ceramic and wooden bowls and wooden writing sets for his loved ones. Chris loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him including his pets Captain Jack and Sparrow.
