Christopher's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Christopher Lee Gunter, on June 5, 2024. Chris was born on January 17, 1973, to his loving parents, Ronald and Allison Gunter. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to his family and country.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Andrea in 2021.
Left to mourn his passing are his beloved children, Rebecca and Aaron, his siblings, Ashley (Kristen) and Justin (Kayla) Gunter, as well as his parents, Ronald and Allison Gunter. His love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life, and he considered his role as a father as his greatest accomplishment.
Christopher lived a life of service and commitment, which was demonstrated by his career in the United States Army. After retiring in 2014, he continued to serve his community and display his dedication to his country. He was a decorated veteran, having served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were among his proudest achievements. His devotion was matched only by his love for his family.
Chris had a vibrant personality that touched everyone he encountered. He was known for his quick wit, kindness, and wealth of knowledge. A lifetime fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Chris passionately followed his team throughout his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed creating art, cooking and playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and Call of Duty. But his favorite pastime was simply enjoying time with his children. His infectious warmth filled their home with laughter and love.
He was also an avid supporter of Autism Speaks, a cause he held close to his heart. Described as funny, loving, and full of knowledge, Chris was not only cherished by his family but also by those who had the privilege to know him.
His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Christopher Gunter lived a full, vibrant life marked by devotion to his family and service to his country. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
