Christopher's obituary
Christopher George Thomas passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 73, in his home.
Chris loved his family more than anything else in the world. His wife Peggy and daughters Elizabeth and Kimberly. He was a proud grandfather to Rio and his grand-dogs.
Chris was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 30, 1950 to Bedia and Barbara Thomas with whom he is now reunited. The family moved to California along with his three older sisters, Barbara, Patricia and Meredith when he was six years old.
It was in California that Chris met his loving and devoted wife Peggy, whom he married in 1980. They celebrated many happy years and endured many years of struggle but they loved each other through it all. Chris spent the last 9 years suffering from the debilitating effects of Parkinsons disease and although it changed a lot of things about him, he never stopped telling his girls how much he loved them.
Chris worked in banking and tech sales for many years and was always surrounded by technology. He taught his girls the meaning of hard work and that anything is possible. He had a temper but he was always quick to apologize. He was fiercely intelligent and had an amazing memory.
Chris brought his family to Arizona in 1991 and has been in Mesa ever since. He loved to play sports and even coached his daughters in basketball and soccer.
We will be celebrating Chris’ life on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 5:00pm at Red Mountain Park in Mesa at the Hawk Ramada. Those who wish to honor Chris and share stories are welcome to attend, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
